A seamless WooCommerce solution for over 1 million products

Kellox, founded in 1950, is Norway’s largest importer of motorcycles, motorcycle equipment, boats, and outboard motors. With a long-standing history in the motorized product industry for both land and sea. Kellox is a leader in providing high-quality products through its extensive dealer network. Today, Kellox manages nearly 1.2 million SKUs. Making it one of the largest WooCommerce stores globally, in terms of product range.

The solution developed by Maksimer for Kellox is highly customized. It has provided us with a completely new level of control an in making it work smoothly. We’ve worked closely as a team, and Maksimer has kept us involved throughout the entire process. This has been crucial due to the size and complexity of the project, ensuring a much higher quality of execution.

Managing 1.2 million products across multiple channels

Kellox required a scalable and efficient ecommerce platform to handle its massive inventory, which serves both B2B dealers and end consumers. The challenge was to manage this enormous product database efficiently while maintaining high performance and providing accurate, up-to-date product information. Additionally, Kellox needed a solution that could handle custom pricing, bulk product updates, and seamless communication between their ERP system, WooCommerce, and PIM.

A fully integrated WooCommerce platform with PIM and ERP

We designed a custom solution that integrated WooCommerce with Kellox’s ERP system (Navision) and Product Information Management (PIM) system. The workflow involved the ERP system connecting to a web service, which communicates with WooCommerce. WooCommerce communicates with the PIM system to ensure that all product information is consistently updated. This setup allows Kellox to keep track of 1.2 million products efficiently, ensuring dealers and customers receive accurate and timely data.

Our custom-built SaaS solution enables Kellox to handle massive product updates—up to 500,000 at a time. While maintaining fast page load times. We also developed a custom caching system that supports personalized pricing and custom product views for individual dealers based on their contracts.

A highly scalable and efficient ecommerce platform

The solution we developed has revolutionized Kellox’s online operations. With WooCommerce’s flexibility and the tight integration with PIM and ERP systems, Kellox now manages a largest product databases. Kellox now has the ability to manage and update 1.2 million products efficiently, even when performing bulk updates of up to 500,000 items at a time.

The integration between ERP, WooCommerce, and PIM ensures that product information remains consistent and accurate across all sales channels. Each dealer has access to personalized pricing, order history, and a complete product catalog, providing them with the tools necessary to serve their customers effectively. Despite the size of the database, we optimized Kellox’s platform to maintain page load times under two seconds, ensuring a smooth and fast user experience for all users.
