Global Hobby is one of Norway’s leading distributors of hobby and art materials. With a nationwide network of retailers, they supply everything from paint and paper to specialized tools and equipment for art and crafts. To make ordering easier for their resellers, we built a customized B2B e-commerce platform based on WooCommerce, fully integrated with Visma Business.

A fully integrated WooCommerce solution

The new B2B store is tightly connected to Global’s ERP system, Visma Business. More than 18,000 products are automatically synchronized with up-to-date pricing and stock levels. This ensures resellers always have accurate information and real-time availability without any manual updates.

Automated product and price management

All product data is managed in Visma Business. Updates are automatically reflected in WooCommerce, eliminating duplicate work and ensuring consistent, accurate information. Price adjustments in Visma are also synced instantly to the B2B store.

Automatic image synchronization

Product images are managed outside both WooCommerce and the ERP system. A custom synchronization process matches images to products based on file names, ensuring every item is visually represented without manual maintenance.

Real-time inventory management

Inventory levels are controlled directly from Visma Business and updated in near real time. Retailers always see accurate stock information across all 18,000+ products, which reduces order errors and improves workflow between systems.

With this solution, Global now has a future-ready B2B e-commerce platform that simplifies ordering for retailers across Norway. The deep ERP integration minimizes maintenance and provides a reliable foundation for continued digital growth.

Private B2B store for registered retailers

While the full product catalog is publicly visible, only approved retailers can place orders. Consumers can browse the range and view suggested retail prices, but checkout is restricted to registered users. This setup supports Global’s B2B model while maintaining product visibility across the market.

Sales based on outer packaging

With thousands of SKUs and different packaging units, pricing accuracy is essential. The store includes custom logic for outer packaging sales, automatically calculating unit prices based on the number of items per box. This ensures consistent pricing and helps retailers order in the correct volumes.

Smarter search for faster navigation

To manage the large product range efficiently, we developed a custom live search that replaces the default WooCommerce version. The new search delivers instant results and supports product attributes, SKU lookups, and partial matches — helping busy retailers find what they need in seconds.
